Post-purchase review requests, timed to when they'll actually convert

A review request sent the day an order ships is asking the customer to review a box they haven't opened. A request sent three months later is asking them to remember a purchase they've already forgotten. The window that actually converts sits in the days right after delivery, once the product's been unboxed and used at least once — that's when the experience is both fresh and complete enough to comment on.

Build the trigger off your fulfillment or shipping event, not the order date. If you use Shopify, WooCommerce, or a similar platform, connect the delivery-confirmed webhook to your smart form so the request fires automatically 3-7 days after the package arrives, without anyone on your team touching a spreadsheet.

Just as important as timing is what happens after the click. A single star-rating question up front lets you branch the flow: customers who rate 4-5 stars get invited to leave a public review or upload a photo testimonial, while customers who rate 1-3 stars land on a private form that goes to your support queue. This keeps your public review score honest while giving you a chance to resolve issues before they turn into a one-star post on Google or a marketplace.
